Registration Begins for juniors: Summer 2012, Fall 2012
First day of assigned Summer 2012 and Fall 2012 registration dates for students projected as juniors. Hours for AccessPlus registration are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and most Sundays.
Open forum: Residence department's associate director for facilities candidate, Mark Huss
The department of residence has named four finalists for its associate director for facilities position. An open forum is planned for each candidate during the March 27-April 5 timeframe. All are invited to attend.
Workshop: SciTech eBooks
"Knovel: An Introduction to a Major SciTech eBook Collection." This hands-on workshop will introduce users to Knovel, which provides a searchable database of handbooks, datasets and reference sources in science, technology and engineering through a single interface. Registration is required through AccessPlus. All faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend.

Laser Swords and Sandals: Star Wars and Rome
The Star Wars saga has been a cultural phenomenon for over thirty years, and assistant professor of ancient history Ralph Covino is a true aficionado. His talkdiscusses the influence of so-called sword-and-sandals films like "Ben Hur" and "Spartacus" on the Star Wars series.
High/Low: Graffiti, Embroidery, Technology
Teresa Paschke, associate professor of Integrated Studio Arts, creates art that explores the notion of tags, monograms, and other "markings" through textiles. She will be joined by Amy Bix, associate professor of History, who will talk about the history and technological development of textile printing.
Lecture: American Foreign Policy after Iraq and Afghanistan
Former Indiana Congressman Lee Hamilton directs the Center on Congress, a non-partisan educational institution he established in 1999. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1965 to 1999 and for more than forty years has been an important voice on international relations and American national security.
