Botanical Illustration Demonstration with Smithsonian Institution's Alice Tangerini
Alice Tangerini, staff illustrator for the botany department at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of History, will speak and do an artwork demonstration. Hosted by the Biological/Pre-medical Illustration Club.
Campus-wide forum: School of Education director candidate
Carl Smith, professor and chair of curriculum and instruction, is one of three finalists for the inaugural director's post in the School of Education. A reception will follow the forum.
Seminar: Comparative Genomics
Arun Sethuraman, ISU BCB graduate student, will lead an analytical discussion on applications of next generation sequencing to phylogenetics and population genomics.

Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander, a young computer hacker. There is also a showing at 10pm.
The Future of African & African American Studies in Iowa - James Randall
James H. Randall taught for more than thirty years in English and African American Studies at Coe College. His courses have included African American, African, and Caribbean literature and African American history. He has also taught African American literature courses at the University of Iowa and worked with the African American Museum of Iowa in Cedar Rapids.
