Pizza Sale for United Way
The College of Design will sell Jeff's Pizza for $1.50 per slice to raise funds for ISU's United Way campaign. For an extra $1 donation, you will receive a poker card; at the end of the campaign, the person with the best five-card poker hand will win a prize!
Safe Zone Lunch-n-Learn Series
* Gender * 201 is a 50-minute brown bag lunch session occurring on Wednesday, September 26 at 12:05pm as part of the Safe Zone Programââ'¬â"¢s Lunch-n-Learn series developed through the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Student Services (LGBTSS) Center. * Gender * 201 will explore how gender identity and gender expression affect the experiences of Iowa State students.

Class: Haiku in the Gardens
Join local published poet, Dennis Maulsby, for another course in four weekly sessions examining the history, nature, and variations of haiku poetry. Learn to write and appreciate this beautiful poetic art within the endlessly inspiring landscape of the outdoor gardens, focusing on the splendor of autumn. No poetry or writing background required-perfect for beginners and those wishing to improve their grasp of the form.
Class: Macro Flower & Insect Photography
Mark Stoltenberg is back to teach a four part workshop covering the basics of macro flower and insect photography. Topics include equipment and how to use it, depth of field, aperture, light, composition, finding your subject, and tips and tricks. Each class is broken into 3 parts: classroom discussion, hands-on practice taking pictures by the students, and review of the images taken.
Wire Work: Clasps and Jump Rings
If you enjoy making your own jewelry making custom jump rings and clasps will bring your pieces to a new level. Terrie will share lots of designs and styles and will guide you in tool use. Bring your stash of beads to class with you.
Mat Cutting
Learn to size mats, cut straight and beveled edges, and hinge mount artwork. Bring a 5 x 7 or smaller art piece with you to class. This class is required in order to use the mat cutter on your own.
Strategic Mentoring
In this interactive session participants will assess their desired career path and previous mentoring experiences and develop an individualized Mentor Selection Plan for the next two career steps.
