Brunnier in Bloom
Celebrate spring and the current exhibitions during Brunnier in Bloom, the Museum's annual pairing of beautiful art and fabulous flowers. This event showcases the talents of Ames-area floral designers and garden clubs as they're challenged to create arrangements inspired by works of art in the Museum's collection.

Performance: "The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds"
A single mother and her two daughters try to cope with life. One of the daughters, Tillie, prepares her experiment for the science fair involving marigolds raised from radioactive seeds, but her mother does not make it easy for her success. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, this play was later adapted for film and was directed by Paul Newman and starred Joan Woodward.

Feed the Need Food Drive
Student Volunteer Services will be collecting canned and non-perishable food for local people in need. Food will be donated to Mid-Iowa Community Action (MICA) for distribution through their food pantry.
Poverty Awareness Week - various events
March 29-April 3 marks the second annual Poverty Awareness Week at Iowa State University. Organized by EWB-ISU, the week long event gives organizations on campus a chance to come together and raise awareness of poverty and inform students of how they can become involved.
Public forum: Mechanical engineering department chair finalist
Zhuomin Zhang, professor in the mechanical engineering school at Georgia Tech University, will present his vision for the department. All who are interested are welcome to attend.
National Nutrition Month: Free munchies
Free fruit for the first 150 visitors. "Nutrition from the Ground Up," is a nutrition education and information campaign sponsored annually by the American Dietetic Association.
ISU ADVANCE Workshop: Associate to full professor
"Pathways to Advancement: Associate to Full Professor," Annette O'Connor, ISU veterinary diagnostic and production animal medicine, and 2009-10 ADVANCE faculty fellow. She will present a compilation of resources and information regarding pathways to advancement, especially from associate to full professor. A panel of full professors also will discuss their experiences with promotion and respond to questions.

Lecture: The Case for American Greatness
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will speak on his new book No Apology: The Case for American Greatness. Romney was CEO of Bain & Company, a management consulting firm, and cofounder of Bain Capital, a private equity investment firm. He left the private sector to organize the 2002 Winter Olympics as President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee.
Death by Alcohol: The Sam Spady Story
Brian Alley, executive director of the Sam Spady Foundation, delivers the message that alcohol can kill and provides information to empower students to use good judgment and drink responsibly.
Lecture: Engineering the Future
Jonathan Wickert, dean of ISU's College of Engineering, will speak on how today's students can become leaders for a cleaner, healthier, safer and more sustainable world. His talk is part of the Triangle Fraternity Last Lecture Series. Wickert, who has nearly 20 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, urges students to view engineering in its social context, as a creative profession that uses technology to improve people's lives.

Registration dates for Summer and Fall 2010
First day of assigned Summer 2010 and Fall 2010 registration dates for students projected as juniors. Hours for AccessPlus registration are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and most Sundays.
Physics Celebration
ISU's physics and astronomy dept. marks the launch of the Large Hadron Collider's new physics program with several events: A webcast of the high-energy physics at the European Organization for Nuclear Research will be in 18 Physics Hall. A poster and a display are outside 30 Physics Hall that show live data from the ATLAS experiment. The ISU Physics and Astronomy Club will display research posters in the lower level of the Memorial Union.
Tuesday Tea
Come to the Farm House Museum to enjoy tea and conversation. Mark your calendar from 12:00 - 1:00 pm Tuesdays this month and enjoy the Farm House in a whole new way. After tea, all are welcome to join a guided tour that will highlight different topics each week, this weeks topic is "Farm House Matrons". Reservations not required.

"The Bells of Iowa State: An Enduring Tradition," Bob Lindemeyer, retired ISU associate director for media development. Experience this multi-media history of the Iowa State University Carillon located in ISU's iconic Campanile.
Lecture: Autobiography of a Recovering Skinhead
Frank Meeink speaks about his descent into America's Nazi underground and his ultimate triumph over hatred and addiction. By age 16, Meeink was one of the most notorious skinhead gang leaders on the East Coast. By 18, he was doing hard time in an Illinois prison, where he began to question his hatred, thanks in large part to his African-American teammates on a prison football league.

ArtWalk: New Sites & Old Favorites
This tour will focus on one of the newest additions to the collection, "A Celebration of the Iowa Prairie" by Sticks in the Maple, Willow, Larch Dining Center. The tour will also explore other public works of art in Maple Hall.
