"Little Dresses for Africa" Work Day
Simple dresses made out of pillowcases provide relief and hope for the children of Africa. We will provide the supplies, but can use the hands of volunteers to assist with making the dresses.

Faculty Senate meeting
The Faculty Senate represents the general faculty of Iowa State University and participates in shared governance of the University with the administration. Senate meetings are open to the public and adjourn at 5 p.m.
Opening Reception: Adaptive Interface - Building Envelope
Reception for an exhibition of work by international teams of architecture and landscape architecture students who participated in the ARS Berlin Summer Academy 2011. The teams worked with energy modeling and dynamic daylight simulation software as a design tool and integrated daylighting, illumination and shading strategies into their designs for adaptable, mixed-use buildings for the European Energy Forum site in Berlin, Germany.
Acrylic Painting Sara Merritt
Learn basic color theory as well as painting from both life and photograph. Techniques will include monochromatic painting, full color application, and glazing. This course is for painters of all levels and students will share supplies.

Recycle silverware (even forks and knives!) into rings, earrings, bracelets & more. Materials are provided, but if you have special silverware you would like to use you may bring it to class.

The story of Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane's successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget by employing computer-generated analysis to draft his players. There will be a showing at 10pm as well.

Learn an inexpensive way to create custom t-shirts. Using your own design, learn to make a screen with the photographic emulsion method. Bring in your shirts and print away! This class is required in order to use the Workspace screenprinting equipment on your own.
