Greek Trick-Or-Treat
This annual, family-friendly event is hosted by ISU chapters in the sorority and fraternity community. The costume parade will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Argentine Tango Drop-In Lessons
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. Classes meet every Sunday and drop-ins are welcome. Purchase a dance punch card and attend as often as your schedule allows. Open to ages 18+.
Cyclone Cinema: Nope
Cyclone Cinema is presented by the Student Union Board and showcases a variety of film genres, screening a different movie every weekend Thursday - Sunday during the semester. Sunday film screenings are in open caption format. All other screenings can be open caption as well, as long as the request is made to the staff prior to the movie starting.

Performance: Goo Goo Dolls
The Goo Goo Dolls "Chaos in Bloom" added an Ames stop as part of the band's intimate theater tour leg, featuring new songs, deep cuts and hits from their illustrious catalog. Indie rock band Whitehall will open the show.

Paint Your Own Pottery: Give Back Week for SHOP
Bring in a non-perishable food in exchange for $5 off pottery painting. Donations will be delivered to The SHOP (Students Helping our Peers), a student-run, on-campus food pantry. Their mission is to engage with anti-hunger, advocate, and serve the student population by increasing hunger awareness and food security. Information about SHOP and how to get involved will be available. Drop in anytime Monday-Friday 2-9pm or Saturday 10am-4pm.

"Start This, Start That ... Start Something at Iowa State," an informational luncheon about the university's startup programs and resources for graduate students, faculty and staff. Learn how to move your technology through the university into a new venture and get connected to available resources. Lunch is free; registration is requested.

Each will meet with faculty and staff, visit a county extension office, and hold an open forum on the first day of their visit. Open forums will be live streamed for staff in the County offices; links will be made available with the announcement of each candidate. The sessions also will be recorded and made available after all the finalist visits are completed.

Join us for free pizza and candy at our annual departmental Halloween party. Beal Distinguished Lecture in Rural Sociology: "Not the 'Whole Picture,' Reimagining Food Systems to Account for What We Don't Know." Michael Carolan was born, raised, and educated in Iowa. His career took him to Colorado State University where he is co-director of the Food Systems Institute for Research, Engagement and Learning; professor of sociology; and an engagement and extension food systems specialist.

Celebrating Romeo Oriogun: Winner of the Nigerian Prize for Literature
Romeo Oriogun is a current postdoc fellow in Iowa State University's Creative Writing and Environment program. He is this year's recipient of the NLNG Nigerian Prize for Literature for his poetry collection Nomad. At this event, we will be celebrating his accomplishments with a reading from Romeo himself, followed by time to meet and mingle.

Jennifer Cherrier is a professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Brooklyn College-The City University of New York. She is also the president and founder of Waterway Ecologics. Her 25+ years of research expertise are in aquatic carbon and nitrogen biogeochemistry with a more recent focus on water resource sustainability.
