Bonsai Show
The private bonsai collections of Iowa Bonsai Association members will be on display at Reiman Gardens for the Annual Fall Bonsai Show. There will be presentations and informal demonstrations each day.

Human Sciences Week
The first-ever week long celebration of the College of Human Sciences will take place Oct. 12-16. Today's events include root beer floats and a lecture by Leigh Patel.

Folded paper cranes symbolize longevity, wisdom and marital bliss. Choose from beautifully printed origami papers and follow the folding instructions to create your own set of three cranes. Keep them as a talisman for yourself, or give them to someone as a small but special gift.
PT Job Fair

Seminar: Gameful Design
This session will explore what it means to "gamefully design" a course. Gameful design goes beyond badges, points, and leaderboards to include more complex elements that promote deeper engagement. These elements include autonomy, agency, narrative, and more. Gameful design elements will be examined within several learning contexts, such as large lectures, small courses, and online courses.
Women's and Gender Studies series

Brush Painting Workshop
In a world with so many problems, how can we create a more just and compassionate society to live in? Explore ways to creatively tap into your own compassion by gently opening the heart and mind through mindfulness practices, and writing the Japanese character for compassion with brush and sumi ink. McCabe teaches Buddhist philosophy, meditation, yoga, and calligraphy. He is fully ordained in the Soto Zen tradition.
