Artwork Drop-off for Art Inspired Student Juried Exhibit
ISU Students are invited to submit artwork for consideration for the Art Inspired Exhibit. Students of any major can drop off up to 3 artworks in any media. Chosen artwork will be on display in the Pioneer Room February 2-March 19.
Research Workshop: Finding Funding Opportunities
"Using Campus Resources to Find Funding Opportunities." In this hands-on training you will learn how to strategically use websites and proprietary databases to identify and connect with funding opportunities and to set up saved searches, shared opportunities, and receive funding alert emails.

Workshop: The Pedagogy of Canvas Quizzes
Participants will learn how to use Quizzes in Canvas. The workshop will focus on practical ways to customize Quiz Settings as well as create and administer Quizzes with a variety of question types to accommodate specific learning situations. Quiz Moderation and Analytics will be also explored.

Workshop: Assignments and Gradebook in Canvas
Assignments are a backbone of the course's Gradebook in Canvas. Participants will learn to create and manage Assignments and Assignment Groups as well as explore how the Gradebook is connected to the organization of Assignments. Participants will experience the power of SpeedGrader for efficient and effective grading.
Research Workshop: Submission software training
The Office for Responsible Research will transition to a new electronic system for submission, review, and maintenance of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) applications. The a-tune tick@lab system will go live in early 2018, integrating research, teaching and testing protocols, animal procurement and management, as well as veterinary medical records.
Seminar: Computational Feminism: Searching for Cyborgs
Computational design is a field within architecture that leverages computing, data and machines to advance the aesthetic and performative qualities of the built environment. As the field matures, architects must address an increasing number of cultural, political and ethical dimensions, particularly in technical roles. This presentation examines the gender gap in computational design and proposes an agenda to achieve gender equality in this area.
Lecture: Engineered Ecologies: Scaling Landscape Practice in Asia
Dorothy Tang, a landscape architect whose work engages with urban and rural communities in areas facing large-scale environmental upheaval, will focus on three environmental crises -- floods in Thailand, climate-change adaptation in the Pearl River Delta of China and anticipated deforestation in Myanmar -- and explore possible design responses to current ecological issues.
Lecture: On Architectural Sins, Epic Architecture and Everything In Between
Cristina Goberna Pesudo, an architect, educator, critic and co-founder of the architecture firm Fake Industries Architectural Agonism (FKAA), will share the firm's latest projects. Part of the ISU Department of Architecture's 2017-2018 Public Programs Series.

30th Annual Organists of Iowa with Dr. Karen. Black
Accomplished organist DR. KAREN BLACK visits Martha Ellen Tye Auditorium to perform an organ recital. Black is the Rudi Inselmann Endowed Professor of Organ at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. She teaches organ and church music, music theory and aural skills, serves as organist for weekday chapel and Sunday worship services, and conducts the St. Elizabeth Chorale.

"Human Research Basics Series: The Informed Consent Process." A four-part series looks more closely at the various components of the IRB submission process. Performance: Estonian National Symphony Orchestra
Founded as a small radio orchestra in 1926, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra has grown to 100 musicians performing more that 60 concerts each year. Program includes Arvo Pârt's Fratres; Dvorak's Symphony No. 7; and noted violinist Triin Ruubel joins the orchestra to play Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64.
