Grants Hub workshop: Grant writing
This presentation will cover tips for improving proposal writing. Topics include how to organize paragraphs and proposal sections, how to use transitions to improve writing flow, how to improve clarity and avoid jargon, and much more. The focus of this presentation is not so much on the content of proposals, but rather on communicating the content optimally. Online registration is available; bring your lunch.
Art Walk: A Celebration of New Facilities and New Opportunities

Hacking the Classroom: Teaching Computational Thinking in Foundation Design
Nick Senske, assistant professor of architecture, will describe the development process for a required computational thinking course and a multi-year pedagogical study that resulted in innovative teaching methods for improving student outcomes and engagement. Part of the IDRO Friday Research Seminar Series.

Adirondack Chairs Class
Make a comfortable outdoor chair just in time for fall fire pit season. Students will learn to follow a pattern and safely use wood shop tools including the table saw, drill press, sander and hand tools. Assemble your parts and learn about different finishes to personalize your woodworking project. Beginners are welcome.

A four week course on Wednesdays - September 2, September 9, September 16, and September 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Whether you are a budding naturalist, artist, or writer, Reiman Gardens is the ideal setting to observe and record pollinating insects, tropical butterflies, and native flora and fauna.

A Three Pillars Delsarte based approach to Middle Eastern Belly Dance in the style of award winning performer Shiara. Learn the basic movements of belly dance with a specific focus and detailed exploration each week (listed below). The 8:20pm class will focus on technique, expression and choreography.

Amigurumi Crochet Workshop
Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small animals or creatures. The projects are super cute, fun to make, and all you need to know is basic crochet stitches to start. Come make your own stuffed creature and learn the basics of shaping, construction, and finishing. These projects can be turned into anything from keychains to cat toys, and there will be plenty of patterns to choose from.
Youth Watercolor Class
Learn basic sketching and watercolor techniques to paint everything from plants, animals, and butterflies, to landscapes and garden scenes.
