Workshop: Big Data for (Sm)all Farmers
The workshop is to inform farmers with small and medium sized operations about current and future big data research, resources and technologies, and to learn from these farmers about the resources and technologies that would be most useful to them.

Marc McGinn, a senior research technician at the Ames Laboratory, is retiring.

Peggy Best, administrative specialist in the Center for Crops Utilization Research, is retiring. A program will begin at 2:30 p.m.
Workshop: The Pedagogy of Canvas Quizzes
Participants will learn how to use Quizzes in Canvas. The workshop will focus on practical ways to customize Quiz Settings as well as create and administer Quizzes with a variety of question types to accommodate specific learning situations. Quiz Moderation and Analytics will be also explored.
Presentation: Lincoln Way safety study, Phase 2
Consultants will present their recommendations for multi-modal safety along Lincoln Way (Ash to Sheldon avenues). The campus community is invited.

Workshop: Assignments and Gradebook in Canvas
Assignments are a backbone of the course's Gradebook in Canvas. Participants will learn to create and manage Assignments and Assignment Groups as well as explore how the Gradebook is connected to the organization of Assignments. Participants will experience the power of SpeedGrader for efficient and effective grading.
ISCORE Preconference
A professional development opportunity for all faculty, professional and merit staff. These sessions provide a structured environment to enhance your understanding and sensitivity to cultural differences. Many of the sessions will focus on providing tools to improve employee interactions and create inclusive workspaces.
Research Workshop: Submission software training
The Office for Responsible Research will transition to a new electronic system for submission, review, and maintenance of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) applications.
Open forum: Vice president for Extension and Outreach finalist
John Lawrence, interim vice president for ISU Extension and Outreach. He is one of four candidates who will interview on campus between Feb. 26 and March 7.
Information event: Rare Disease Day
One in 10 Americans has a rare condition. This event is intended to spread awareness about rare conditions and the issues faced by the individuals living with them. Includes a presentation and poster session.

Exploring the Vault with University Museums Interns
University Museums student interns get a chance to do everything from curatorial work to collections management to developing educational programming. So naturally each student will develop a list of their favorite things. While the Brunnier Art Museum is closed for renovations this semester, let current and former students share with you the objects they love from the vault of University Museums.

Scherezade Mama is an assistant professor at Penn State University whose research focuses on physical activity and health promotion among underserved and vulnerable populations, including racial and ethnic minorities, women, low-income populations, and rural residents.
