Graduate Student Teaching and Learning Circle: McKeachie's Teaching Tips
"McKeachie's Teaching Tips" has long been a valued resource for beginning and experienced teachers alike. This circle, specifically for graduate students, will read and discuss portions of McKeachie's 13th edition text, which covers such topics as course preparation, discussion and lecture, grading and assessment and more. Participants may check out a copy on loan from CELT.
Gamma "Panther Chow" fund-raiser
Support the ISU Gammas by purchasing a snack bag of "Panther Chow" cereal treats for $1. Funds are being used to send members to the national sisterhood retreat. ISU's Gamma Chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc. is a multicultural group which works to empower women through academics, community service, cultural awareness morals and ethics, and social interaction.

GIS Seminar: Virtual Environments
"Here, There, or in the Air: Issues with Perceptions of Space, Place, and Embodiment in Virtual Environments." Brian Mennecke, ISU management information systems, will discuss the role of geographic thinking and spatial relationships in virtual worlds and what we can learn about spatial analysis, spatial cognition and perceptions of self and others. "Time and the 3rd Dimension - Art and Computer Science," Anson Call, ISU art and design. Call combines computers and art in his 3-D works of art seen in the "Relationships: Drawn, Analog to Digital" exhibition. He will discuss his art and will be joined by Chris Johnson, ISU computer science, who will help the audience understand the history and development of computer-generated images.
