Last day of assigned registration start dates for Summer 2009 and Fall 2009 registration.
Symposium: BIGMAP
"Food and Fuel Crops: Issues, Policies and Regulation," is the focus of the 6th annual symposium of ISU's Biosafety Institute for Genetically Modified Agricultural Products. Prabhu Pingali, deputy director of ag development for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will give the April 22 lunch address.
Lecture: Natural fertilizer
"Going Green with Natural Fertilizer," Willie Wellington, Insite, will describe the benefits of natural fertilizer for your lawn, garden and houseplants.
Film and discussion: "First Person Plural"
Panelists will share personal experiences about international and cross cultural adoptions. Free pizza and pop.
Reception: YWCA Ames-ISU Women of Achievement
A dessert reception to honor the YWCA Ames-ISU 2009 Women of Achievement award winners and scholarship recipients. Tickets are available at the YWCA Ames-ISU office in 210 Lab of Mechanics on the ISU campus, or by calling 294-1663. Proceeds fund scholarships and programming initiatives aimed at eliminating racism and empowering women and girls.
Concert: ISU Jazz I & II
The Jazz Program at ISU includes two student big bands led by ISU faculty member James Bovinette and Michael Giles.
