Viola is shipwrecked and believes her twin brother is dead. She disguises herself as a young man and enters the service of a Duke. This is one of Shakespeare's best beloved romantic comedies and begins "If music be the food of love, play on." Before the last line is spoken, there has been an exploration of all forms of love from misguided love to self love and ultimately true love. First performed in 1602.
