Garden Art Fair
The 11th Annual Garden Art Fair at Reiman Gardens provides an opportunity for artists to share their garden and nature inspired art with the public. Visitors can browse a variety of artist's works and buy products including jewelry, watercolor, pottery, woodwork, glass, and more. Food vendors will provide food throughout the day, and a variety of live music performances will complement the art.
Argentine Tango Practica Class
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4 - 5pm moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for dancing better.

Great Plants for Iowa Series: Ornamental Grasses
This series will allow participants to develop knowledge of the wide variety of garden plants that grow well in Central Iowa. Covering nearly 500 plants, these 16 classes are spread across several years. Each class focuses on identification, cultural requirements, and the use of the plants in gardens and the broader landscape.

Kids Story Time
Each session features a theme with two or three books read aloud followed by a related craft or activity. The books, crafts and activities are intended for children ages two to seven years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Online Tele-Workshop: How To Approach The Academic Job Market After Tenure

This workshop will offer some aspects to consider for the next phase Do you have ongoing guilt or shame about how much time you spend avoiding your work because it's painful to write, or you're no longer sure exactly where or how to start?
Class: Black and White Digital Photography
This class runs four weeks on Wednesdays, July 2, July 9, July 16,and July 23 This course builds on the technical foundations of digital photography, expanding practical skills while also fostering your aesthetic awareness and vision as a photographer. Mark Stoltenberg will help you look at the world in a whole new way as you further explore the tools, techniques and identify the best subject matter to create black and white digital images.
Patterned Patina Jewelry Class
Experiment with creating patinas (surface designs) in copper. Try an exciting new technique using stamps, ink and a torch. Then create blues and greens with homemade patina recipes. Learn basic metalsmithing techniques to create beautiful bangles, earrings or pendants.

Paint Your Own Pottery: Pet Bowls
Join us for a fun exploration of techniques in "painting" bisque. Personalize a food or water bowl for your furry friend. Studio fee is $4 for ISU and $5 for public to attend plus the cost of the bisque you select. Pottery will be fired within a week for you to pick up. Pre-registration with payment is not required but a call to reserve a spot is recommended.
Workshop: Nature Journaling
This workshop runs for four weeks on Thursdays, July 17, July 24, July 31, and August 7 Whether you are a budding naturalist, artist, or writer, Reiman Gardens is the ideal setting to observe & record pollinating insects, tropical butterflies, & native flora & fauna. Yvonne Brune of Creative Department will lead you through different garden areas exploring techniques to capture your experiences in nature through writing or sketching. Ages 10+
Art Critique
Share your artwork in a comfortable atmosphere and get feedback and ideas. Share your observations with others, and network with artists. Bring up to 3 pieces of work in any media. Open to all levels of artists and no pre-registration necessary.

Youth Activity: Discovery Station
The purpose of Reiman Gardens' discovery stations is to add a fun, informal activity in the Gardens during the summer that relates to the themed garden areas. The discovery stations are family oriented and designed so both youth and adults can participate in the activities.

"Tales for Tails." Join us for a story time with the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. Please note: Service animals will be in attendance.
Sew, Stitch and Swap Class
For those who love to stitch! If you are a beginner who needs some guidance, sewing instructor Judith Lemish will be available to troubleshoot and assist. For those with experience, it's a great opportunity to enjoy the camaraderie and idea sharing of a group atmosphere. Judith will do a short demo at 1pm - infinity scarves on June 22 and therapy pillows on July 19.
