Little Libraries are popping up all over, including a few in Ames. The Libraries look like small houses and are usually mounted on a pole. Inside are free books that anyone can stop by to pick up. Being a steward of the little library includes providing a spot for the library (your front yard is fine!), and making sure books are available.

The most successful Little Libraries involved people who genuinely want to share a love of reading with others.

The Workspace will have kits available to purchase that you can construct and paint during this workshop. Or, you may come in to help build a custom library that will be placed in the Memorial Union. We will have information about how to register your Library with the parent organization as well as tips on maintaining your free books.

The entire 4 hours may not be required for everyone depending on how fast you work, but our woodshop instructor, Dan Neubauer, will be available during that time to assist.

Since this meets over the lunch hour feel free to bring snacks or some cash to visit the food court at the MU.

Pre-registration isn't required, however it is a good idea to call for us to hold a kit for you.
