New location: Send Silence Packing exhibit

9:00 am - 4:00 pm @ State GymSend Silence Packing is a nationally recognized traveling exhibition of donated backpacks representing college students lost to suicide each year. The program is designed to raise awareness about the incidence and impact of suicide, connect students to needed mental health resources, and inspire action for suicide prevention.

10:30 am - 12:00 pm @ 134 Parks Library"Open Science Framework (OSF): A Research Workflow Tool to Support Transparency and Rigor in Scholarship." Part of the challenge of making research more transparent and reproducible is logistical. The OSF is a free project management service and repository where researchers -- using their own tools and processes -- can collaborate within their research groups and choose components of their research for broader dissemination.

Faculty using Open Educational Resources (OER) in their courses share the benefits and challenges of making the switch to OER and students share their opinion on how OER could affect their learning. Participants will leave the workshop with plans for incorporating OER into their courses and a pathway to making their classes more affordable.
