For faculty, principal investigators, early career researchers, postdocs, graduate students, undergraduates and communications professionals in Iowa who would like to communicate science effectively to a broad audience. There is no registration fee and meals are included (NSF requires attendance at the full session.)

Agenda for the workshop:

Day 1: Participants will learn how to craft a message and deliver it to a variety of audiences. They also will have the opportunity to experience live interview training, to develop writing and new media skills, to hone their public presentations and even to produce video. In a special session, communications staff will have the opportunity to network with their counterparts at NSF.

Day 2: A limited group of researchers will be invited to return for day two to further refine their message; train to talk to their colleagues, public audiences and the media; and become the Iowa cohort of science communication leaders on behalf of NSF.

NSF requires full attendance for each day's 10 hour-long session (8 a.m.-6 p.m.)
