Concert: The Get Up Kids
On their new album "Problems," The Get Up Kids examine everything from life-changing loss to loneliness to the inevitable anxiety of existing in 2019. But by sustaining the essence of their sound -- anthemic choruses with sing-along-ready melodies -- the band highlights those troubles as a shared experience, giving way to an unbreakable solidarity. Indie/post-punk band Pilot to Gunner will support the show.

Argentine Tango Lessons
Valerie Williams This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with different partners for practice. From 5-7pm, the floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie, and for working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Afternoon Wheel Pottery Class
An introduction to creating functional pottery on the wheel. Start with the building blocks of centering clay and pulling cylinders, and move on to make bowls, mugs, and other forms. Class meets Tuesdays from 2:30-5:30pm for 6 weeks with instructor Valerie Williams.

Indigo-Dyed Boro Scarf Class
Learn two fiber art processes to create a contemporary "distressed" scarf! Sarah Cady will teach Shibori, one of the earliest Japanese tie-dyeing techniques, which will create patterns on fabric with natural indigo dye. Weeks two and three are with Judy Lemish where you will piece together you dyed fabric with other upcycled cotton textiles.

Monday Monologues series (virtual)
"Fashion Forward: Centering Justice in Fashion History" an online exhibit that confronts traditional museum practices. By reinterpreting a selection of objects in the ISU Textiles and Clothing Museum with a social justice lens, including cultural appropriation, racial inequities, shifting masculinities, women and feminism, socio-economic carriers and environmental justice, stories arise that were previously left out of the mainstream narrative.
