Joseph Lappie, visiting assistant professor of printmaking and book arts at St. Ambrose University and founder/owner of Peptic Robot Press, will speak about the evolution of his work in printmaking and the design, printing and binding of artists' books. Lappie's lecture will focus on his own prints and artist's books.

Lappie is a visiting assistant professor of printmaking and book arts at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, where he is developing the book arts program. Through his company, Peptic Robot Press, Lappie prints, designs and publishes artists' books and limited-edition poetry books and broadsides. In addition, he runs the Bakery Gallery, a space devoted to artists' books, printmaking, works on paper and textual art, also in Davenport.

Lappie's work is in collections at the Yale Arts Library, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, among others. He received a BFA in Painting and Graphic Design from Ball State University and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Book and Paper Arts from Columbia College Chicago.
