The ISU Fall Leadership Conference is designed to help develop leadership skills, network with other leaders on campus, and help students become more effective leaders during their time at Iowa State and beyond. Students will have the opportunity to select one of five paths that they will follow throughout the course of the conference.

Track Descriptions for ISU Fall Leadership Conference
Each participant will select a track and stay with that track for the entire event.

Moving In
Get involved at ISU! This track will help you learn the short and long term benefits of being involved (and market those benefits to future employers), opportunities to be involved and become a leader at ISU, and learn about your strengths as well as how you fit into the Cyclone Nation. Come learn how to maximize your ability to make a difference in your own life and the lives of others!

Moving Up, Developing your Personal Skills
In order to be an effective leader, it's important to communicate with and motivate others as well as find balance within yourself. In this track, participants will improve their communication skills, learn tips in how to motivate others, and explore time management techniques. The goal of this track is to develop individual skills in order to successfully engage in leadership opportunities.

Moving Up, Knowing Yourself to Be an Effective Leader
One part of being an effective leader is knowing how you learn and respond to various situations. This track will examine these components of your personality, teaching you the strengths you can work with and the weaknesses you can work on.

Moving Up, Progressing your Student Organization
This track is focused on helping your student organization move forward on campus. The sessions in this track focus on taking risks, being creative and trying something new; learning the art of collaboration and how to apply it to working with other organizations; and developing the skills to help your group have an impact on campus. This track is for student leaders who already have a basic foundation of leadership skills and hold key positions in their student organizations.

Moving On
This track is about planning for your transition from students to alumni. Students attending this track of sessions will gain an understanding of negotiating job offers, salaries, and interviews, and will have the opportunity to have their resumes critiqued by a human resources professional. Students will also learn how to transfer their student leadership experiences into their professional careers as they transition into becoming alumni of Iowa State.
