Celebrate the fall season by spending a day at the orchard and pumpkin patch, an annual festival hosted by the horticulture club. Club members will sell apples and pumpkins produced on site and local cider. Apple varieties include Iowa State's Chieftain apple and the Golden Delicious. There will also be tours, children's activities, speakers and demonstrations.

To reach the Horticulture Research Station, travel four miles north of Ames on U.S. Highway 69; turn east on 170th Street ("the Gilbert corner") and proceed 1.5 miles east.
