Research workshop: Navigating Your Research with Human Subjects: The IRB Submission Process - Part 3
This is the third part of a four-part series that looks more closely at the components of the IRB submission process. In this session, participants will learn about the informed consent process, including participant recruitment and the informed consent document. Discussion will center around what's required of you as the researcher, and best practices for designing and administering consent.
Does the inclusion of technology alone make a course innovative? While technology plays a significant role in education, it should serve as a means to an end rather than the end goal. Innovation in it's simplest form means change. It's in the way we design our courses, create our objectives, implement our instructional materials, and design our assessments.
Learn how to navigate the new electronic IRBManager system, what the submission process looks like, how to submit IRB protocols for review and how to access your IRB-approved materials. Graduate students, postdocs and research faculty would benefit most from attending, but all are welcome.
This workshop will share simple but effective negotiation skills participants can use in their professional and personal lives to persuade, enrich and maximize their potential. Negotiation and conflict resolution don't have to be "avoidable" aspects of our lives. Light refreshments will be served. Registration requested.
